Game Engine Test: Veld Sea Soundscape


This update is just the basics. What may be new is some monsters like ghosts are animated now, and I discovered a bug with the new shadows in PCVR mode, that this patch fixes.

This is the first patch with a C# game engine. I would just like some feedback that the game works, and if you hear sound effects for the waterfall and seaside, because it can confirm the engine is working.

I have animated the archers, but I still need to set up their attack ranges and timings and sound effects. I've left  them this way because working on their arrow projectile is something I've not considered.

Oh, and there is one other new thing. There is AI for keeping monsters from leaping off ledges. I've removed the artificial barriers from these ledges. And the adult kraken is likely affected by this, and so doesn't turn around readily in order to follow you. If you want it to attack you must walk in front of it. And the monks walk along their parapets.

Edit: One more thing is I've changed SOM to be able to use multiple attack animations. Depending on pressing the direction keys there are 3 attacks, one for swinging that comes from the Shiden katana, and one for stabbing that comes from the dagger, and the basic attack comes from the standard vertical chop that swords have. You can find stats for these in the equipment screens, if you toggle on stats there, and follow the new arrows left and right. The shield now displays its defense bonus for being raised, and its attack ratings. A final selection called Assist will supply elemental bonuses to offense and defense.

Tobii: There's some code I wrote for the Tobii Eye Tracker 5. If you have one I recommend adding do_tobii2 to your [Option] section in your Ex.ini file. You'll probably like it better. The default mode tries to simulate what it would be like if your monitor is a window into the game world. That causes it to do the opposite of what you kind of expect, and so do_tobii2 lets you treat your eye tracker like a VR set kind of.
